OTAO Advocacy Day
April 12, 2019
Support Occupational Therapy in Oregon

The OTAO Legislative Committee invites you to take part in a unique opportunity to learn more about the legislative process in Oregon. Join the OTAO Legislative Committee and lobbyist for a day of hands-on education and interaction with your state legislators. The 2017/2018 sessions brought exciting progress for OT related legislation in Oregon, including the sponsorship of a bill on OT workloads in schools, as well as focused discussion with OTs and OTAs, educators, and legislators. During the 2019 session, we hope to revisit this piece of legislation further with continued support from legislators.
The day will include a brief training on 1) current legislation affecting OT; 2) importance of advocacy at the state level, and 3) tips for interacting with legislators. Be prepared to show your OT expertise as you meet those folks crafting legislation that directly informs OT practice in Oregon. The future of OT in Oregon depends on our collective knowledge and engagement!
