Measurement Committee
Mission Statement
Through the use of fiscal and human resources, the Research and Outcome Measurement Committee will support occupational therapy practitioner’s to expand and develop the body of knowledge of Occupational Therapy through research and measuring outcomes of treatment.
Vision Statement
The Research and Outcome Measurement Committee (ROMC) exists as an entity within OTAO. OTAO allocates a portion of funds generated from its income to the ROMC. Yearly these funds will be distributed to practitioners or students who wish to further the body of knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
ROMC will serve as a resource to provide assistance to clinicians and students who wish to secure funding from other resources/funding bodies.
ROMC will serve as a resource to practitioners and students to connect with other bodies of knowledge to assist in research, program development, and outcome measurement.
Goals
To allocate funds to clinicians and students performing research or outcome measurement.

Grant Application Rules
for Research/Outcome Measurement
Instructions and General Information
Only OTAO members are eligible for grant funding. Proposals are expected to be submitted with references to individuals or institutions involved in the research project. OTAO will keep and have available information about awarded grants to the public. Awards will be presented at the annual state conference. Actual award date will be before September of each year and based on submitted timeline of the research.
Requirement:
Awarded practitioners or student(s) will be expected to present their findings or project at the annual state conference of the following year awarded. This can be in the format of poster session or oral presentation.
Human Subjects
The Department of Health and Human Services' (DHHS) provides regulations for protection of human subjects. These regulations should be followed when conducting research. Submission
Proposals must include an abstract. Proposals should be typed and presented in a clear concise manner. Do not send an incomplete application. See Research Application for specifications.
