Looking for a spark?

Been in Oregon a while?  New to Oregon? Been in Occupational Therapy for years? or is this your first year? or are you on the road to joining the profession?

Doesn't matter...OTAO is working to make your state association meaningful to you.  Now, I'm not here to make a list of all the cool things we are doing. All those cool things are listed on our website in multiple places...so if it's a list you seek, please keep surfing our site.

Let me introduce myself, I'm Sybil Fisher.  I've been an OT for close to 12 years.  I used to be an OT who asked "what's in it for me?" and I really did mean that.  I would say, "there's so many professional organizations I should belong to and I have so many bills, I just don't get enough value for my money."

Sound familiar?  Maybe you are currently saying this to yourself.  There's some truth in that statement, but I need to challenge you to stop, and change your perspective.  Your job brings in money.  Your job is your livelihood...but is your job only about you?  How many people's lives a day do you influence?

Think about all the interventions you do in a day.

What if one, just one of those interventions became illegal for you to use?

Think about it.

If you have one piece of value that is the most crystal clear piece of value it is your job.  OTAO fights to protect your right to all the things you do.  Now how is that for value?

OTAO Mission Statement

The mission of OTAO is to support its membership by providing direction and vision for the profession while promoting excellence in the practice of Occupational Therapy.

So What is OTAO?

We are a community of Occupational Therapy practitioners formed around our passion to help others find a quality and a balance to life, no matter what the area of specialty we have chosen.  We unite around common goals, common needs to gain further education and knowledge and we unite around common passions to protect our jobs.

We also like to have a lot of fun!  So join us.
